Suggest Best Practices for Efficient Plastic Waste Management

Plastics have significantly penetrated in all walks of our life mainly owing to their performance supremacy over conventional materials. At the same time, plastics have attracted a lot of attention, not so much for their positive attributes, but because of their negative environmental impact. The problem is severe in urban agglomerations in India due to littering, choking of drainage pipes due to pipes etc.

In the absence of a systematic and scientific arrangement for plastics waste management, the criticism of plastics has been building up. It is a need of the hour to find effective means of managing the plastic waste that is generated from the state and to make sure that environmental degradation occurring due to the same is checked at the earliest. This can be done by ensuring effective management of waste / creating economic wealth from waste i.e. ‘cash from trash’. There may be a number of success stories which can be shared in this regard.
