I have worked with rural entrepreneurs of Tripura. Tripura has immense potential. Most of the products are imported. Even basic generic items are imported. Many that do not need brand backing can be manufactured here. Products like Lichi juice, rubber bands, agarbatti, etc., can be easily made and accepted by local customers. Artisans should also make utility products for quick sale and sustenance, e.g., bedsheets for weavers/tailors, hangers for bamboo artisans, etc. Focus local, sell global.

The “Vocal for Local” movement can gain greater momentum when people consciously prioritize and advocate for goods and services produced within their own districts. Young entrepreneurs and emerging start-ups can harness the power of digital platforms, strategic branding, and technological innovation to transform indigenous products into competitive and nationally recognized brands.
